[00:00:07.700] I retired from the military in June 2012 [00:00:10.772] and started this practice the day after I retired. [00:00:15.571] We've been open to this location ever since. [00:00:18.586] As a young man, I was in the army. [00:00:22.757] I was in the Special Forces with the 10th group in Southern Germany. [00:00:27.257] As a medical on the A-Team, [00:00:29.457] I was responsible for the health of the team members. [00:00:34.086] At that time, I met a surgeon who went to the military medical school, [00:00:39.129] and he told me all about how I could continue learning medicine [00:00:43.129] and still remain in the military. [00:00:44.871] It was at that point in time I started looking into [00:00:48.886] finish my college degree and get to med school. [00:00:51.914] During medical school, I knew I wanted to be a surgeon, [00:00:55.400] I met several surgeons that really impressed me, [00:00:59.229] and one of them was a plastic surgeon. [00:01:01.371] I think the best part about being a plastic surgeon [00:01:03.514] is that you can do reconstruction, [00:01:07.643] you can do cosmetic, you can do burns, you can… [00:01:10.486] There's no aspect of surgery that a plastic surgeon cannot perform. [00:01:16.444] The practice has a pretty simple motto: [00:01:19.300] right patient, right time, right operation. [00:01:22.229] We will not do surgery on anybody unless they meet those three requirements. [00:01:27.143] My favorite part of working with patients is getting to know them. [00:01:31.029] That helps us get to understand and get to know them a little bit better [00:01:35.043] before we actually start talking about what they desire for themselves.
